Is XAMPP Java installation required to run a simple Java program?
If I have installed XAMPP on Windows XP, can I run a simple Java program and can I view source code from it?
You can run java code without an installation of XAMPP. However, you should have at least a standard Java installation on your computer.
XAMPP is just a set of bundled up tools for web development. It has nothing to do with Java.
You need to have a standard Java installation in order to run Java code. If you don't have a standard Java installation, download one of the many Java downloads from java.com.
